Weekly vs. bi-weekly cleaning: which makes sense for your home?

By Amelia Carter · April 9, 2026 · 3 min read

The most common question we get from new customers: weekly or bi-weekly? Honest answer depends on your house + life. Here's the framework.

Bi-weekly is right when

2 adults, no kids, no pets (or small pets). Working from home (lower foot traffic mess). Older home with mature dust patterns. Most Chicago professional homes.

Cost: $115-145 every other week = $230-290/month.

Weekly is right when

Kids in the house (especially toddlers + younger). Multiple pets. Active social life (hosting frequently). Premium home that maintains better with more frequent care.

Cost: $125-155 weekly = $500-620/month.

The math on cost

Bi-weekly costs roughly 50% less than weekly. But it doesn't deliver 50% less clean — usually more like 70-80% as good. Diminishing returns favor bi-weekly for most homes.

The hidden math: deep clean cadence

Bi-weekly customers usually need 1-2 deep cleans per year. Weekly customers might skip deep cleans entirely. Factor that in.

How to test

Start with bi-weekly. Run for 6 weeks. If your house is consistently clean enough on visit days, stay bi-weekly. If you feel like it gets too messy between visits, upgrade to weekly.

For most professional Chicago homes, bi-weekly is the right answer.
